European champions Chelsea are well placed to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title following the capture of Belgium goal poacher Romelu Lukaku.
The Blues have re-signed Lukaku on a five-year contract, seven years after he departed Stamford Bridge to join Everton.
At 115 million euros, Lukaku is the most expensive player in history signed by Chelsea, breaking the 82 million euros the club paid for Germany international Kai Havertz last September.
One of the best strikers in the world at the moment, Lukaku is coming off the back of an impressive 2020-2021 season at Inter Milan, scoring 24 goals and registering 10 goals to help the Nerazzurri win the Serie A title.
And Blues and Nigeria legend John Obi Mikel has given his approval of the transfer by liking a post from Chelsea on social media.
Of the fifteen appearances made by Lukaku in his first spell at Chelsea, Mikel was involved in five of those games comprising three in the Premier League, one each in the League Cup and UEFA Super Cup.
Announcing the signing of Lukaku, Chelsea wrote in Instagram, ‘In his own words.
